The Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary (IBVM) has policies that promote education, safety, and social transformation. These policies include: 

Education: Emphasizing the importance of quality relationships, promoting excellence in teaching and learning, and collaborating with other education boards 
Safety: Ensuring the safety and protection of children and adults, and having a Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults Policy
Social transformation: Promoting social transformation, and advocating for justice, peace, and integrity of creation (JPIC)
Collaboration: Encouraging collaboration and networking with other schools, and developing partnerships with Mary Ward JPIC and Mary Ward International
Sustainable Development: Advocating for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and raising awareness of HR issues
Faith: Prioritizing the care of faith, and promoting multi-cultural and multi-faith dialogue
Vocation: Discerning a call to religious life through prayer and reflection
